The Judging

Works selected for the competition will assessed by a panel of judges appointed by The James Scott Decorative Arts Society Inc. Judges will comprise of our prestigious judging panel and will not be members of The James Scott Decorative Arts Society Inc. or exhibition curator.

The exhibition selection panel of judges will choose the prize-winning work from those works selected for the competition only. The judges’ decision will be final and correspondence will not be entered into.

Works selected for the ‘Something Old, Something New’ Competition must be forwarded by the Artist as per the timetable dates.

The judging criteria is comprised of five elements:

  1. Craftmanship
  2. Originality
  3. Interpretation of the theme
  4. Skill / Technique
  5. Self Expression

The James Scott Decorative Arts Society Inc. will not exhibit any work forwarded for exhibition which is not specified on the submitted entry form.
